Abu Dhabi’s Civil Family Court has seen a significant increase in the number of couples getting married, with over 6,000 marriages registered in the first six months of this year. The court has received more than 16,300 requests for family-related matters since the introduction of the marriage law in 2021.

These requests include civil marriage, divorce proceedings, custody battles, paternity disputes, inheritance conflicts, and personal status issues. The court operates under non-Sharia law and offers a quick and efficient process for couples to legally resolve their family matters. Applications can be submitted online for a fee of Dh300 , and couples can expect to tie the knot within a few weeks.

The court also introduced an express service last year, allowing couples to get married within 24 hours for a fee of Dh2,500. The services provided by the court have seen a growing demand among foreigners, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s progress in providing prompt and bilingual judicial services.
