Excitement is building as construction progresses on the highly-anticipated Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project in Dubai, with new photos showcasing the site’s development. Among the images released, one reveals the canal’s pathway that will carry water from the waterfall to a nearby lake. Additionally, a glimpse of the project’s retail shops was shared, as citizens in Hatta are set to receive these shops free of cost, thanks to a grant from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), emphasized that this Dh46-million project aims to create a sustainable natural environment. By utilizing the slope of the upper dam of the Hatta plant, a remarkable natural waterfall will be formed, with a waterway constructed below the dam. The water used in the waterfall will be collected at the stream’s end, recycled, and pumped back to the top of the dam. The project’s design is inspired by the hexagonal beehive, a tribute to the famous Hatta honey, and it will feature four oases connected by bridges over the water canal. These oases will offer coffee shops, restaurants, children’s playgrounds, as well as shops selling natural honey, local products, and souvenirs, providing a unique experience for tourists while showcasing the natural beauty of the Hatta mountains.
