The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is taking steps to ensure safer roads and protect its advanced infrastructure. Starting in 2024, heavy vehicles weighing more than 65 tonnes will no longer be allowed on UAE roads, as per a federal law approved by the UAE Cabinet. The primary goal of this measure is to enhance road safety across the nation.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, emphasized the importance of this decision during a recent Cabinet meeting. In addition to the weight restrictions for heavy vehicles, the UAE Cabinet also introduced a federal regulator for water and electricity services.
Furthermore, Sheikh Mohammed announced a new system of rewards and incentives for federal government employees. These incentives will recognize outstanding annual performance, exceptional achievements within government entities, and state-level accomplishments, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding the contributions of its workforce.
