Dubai is taking a major step towards cleaner energy with its Dh15.78 billion solar project. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the head of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), recently checked on the progress of the project, which will be part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.

This phase of the project, known as the 4th phase, is a huge endeavor that will provide clean energy for around 320,000 homes and reduce carbon emissions by a whopping 1.6 million tonnes each year. The solar park is set to be the world’s biggest single-site solar park by 2030, generating a total of 5,000 megawatts.

The 4th phase combines different solar technologies, including a solar tower, photovoltaic panels, and more. So far, a significant part of this phase has been completed, with expectations for it to be finished in the first quarter of 2024. This project is a major part of Dubai’s plans to embrace renewable energy and achieve cleaner air for its residents.

The solar park is a big leap towards a greener future, showing Dubai’s commitment to using sustainable energy sources.
