Bus services between Oman and the UAE are making a comeback with a new route connecting Muscat to Abu Dhabi via Al Ain. Oman’s national transport company, Mwasalat, is launching this service on October 1, offering passengers a convenient way to travel between the two countries.
For just 11.5 Omani riyals (about Dh109.70), you can book a one-way ticket. This fare includes the ability to check up to 23kg of luggage and carry hand baggage weighing up to 7kg. It’s a cost-effective option for those looking to commute between Oman and the UAE.
Mwasalat isn’t stopping there. They have plans to expand their bus service to Sharjah, responding to the growing demand from passengers. The Muscat to Sharjah route is expected to open later this year, providing even more transport options for travelers within the UAE.
Oman residents like Hasan Syed are thrilled about the return of this bus service. He mentioned that during the pandemic, the service was paused, making it difficult for him to travel. However, he hopes that the bus fare can compete with attractive airline pricing for the Muscat to Abu Dhabi route.
This move not only enhances travel options but also strengthens connectivity between Oman and the UAE, offering a convenient and affordable way for passengers to reach their destinations.
