During the months of July and August this year, Sharjah Airport welcomed an impressive 2.8 million passengers from more than 30 countries. The Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) revealed that these passengers arrived and departed on 17,700 flights, highlighting the trust and confidence travellers have in the airport’s services and its commitment to providing a convenient travel experience.
Among the top destinations for passengers using Sharjah Airport were Doha, with approximately 124,000 passengers, followed by Dhaka, Cairo, Trivandrum, and Amman. The SAA is actively working to position Sharjah Airport as one of the top five regional airports, emphasizing safety and seamless travel with top-notch services. The airport’s chairman, Ali Salim Al Midfa, expressed the commitment to enhance facilities and services and revealed plans to expand the airport’s capacity to accommodate 20 million passengers by 2026, aligning with their vision to establish Sharjah Airport among the region’s top airports.
