WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is testing a multi-account feature and a revamped settings interface for its Android app, according to reports. With the multi-account feature, users can add an additional account on the same device directly within WhatsApp Settings. This new feature aims to simplify managing conversations from multiple accounts within a single app.
Additionally, the update includes a redesigned settings interface, providing a more modern and user-friendly experience for navigating the app’s various options. It also features a redesigned profile tab within the chat list for easier access to the app’s settings.
The multi-account feature keeps conversations and notifications separate, enabling users to switch between accounts on the same device without needing different devices or parallel apps. Initially available to beta testers, it is expected to roll out to more users in the coming days. Furthermore, Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently launched a new WhatsApp application for Mac users, enhancing the group calling feature and improving the user experience on larger screens.
