Aster DM Healthcare has announced the launch of the third edition of the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award, dedicated to recognizing the invaluable contributions of nurses in the healthcare community. The award welcomes registered nurses from around the world to participate by submitting nominations for their work through www.asterguardians.com. Nurses can showcase their expertise in primary and up to two secondary areas, including Patient Care, Nursing Leadership, Nursing Education, Social or Community Service, and Research/Innovation/Entrepreneurship in Healthcare. Secondary areas of contribution are optional.

All applications will undergo a rigorous evaluation process, overseen by an independent panel and external advisory firm, Ernst & Young LLP (EY). A Grand Jury, comprising distinguished experts, will review the shortlisted applications to select the top 10 nurses. These finalists will then undergo further assessments to determine the ultimate winner, who will be announced in May 2024, coinciding with International Nurses Day. In the previous edition of the award, Nurse Margaret Helen Shepherd from the UK, renowned for her work in monogenic diabetes, secured the victory and used a portion of the $250,000 prize to support global genetic testing for patients in need.

This initiative continues to celebrate and honor the remarkable contributions of nurses worldwide, recognizing their unwavering dedication to healthcare and humanity.
