In a bid to stimulate economic growth, tourism, and preserve local heritage, Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region has inaugurated two marina developments. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra, unveiled Sila Community Harbour and Al Fayiyi Island Marina, marking a significant step in the region’s maritime master plan. These projects are part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport’s initiatives and fall under Abu Dhabi Maritime, a division of the Abu Dhabi Ports Group.

Sila Community Harbour features modern amenities such as pontoons for 64 fishing boats and private vessels, a dhow quay wall, 68 wet berths, a fishing market, administrative facilities, and a restaurant. Meanwhile, the Al Fayiyi Island Marina includes a navigational canal, road connectivity, berths, solar lighting, and other infrastructure to enhance accessibility for residents and visitors. Sheikh Hamdan commended the UAE leadership for their commitment to developing the Al Dhafra region, an expansive area in western Abu Dhabi known for its desert landscapes, beaches, and islands, which contributes significantly to the emirate’s growth in trade, industry, and tourism.
