Residents in Sharjah Building Forced to Use Stairs for Over a Week as Elevators Break Down

Residents of a 15-story apartment building in Sharjah’s Al Nahda area have been facing significant difficulties as all three elevators in their building have been out of service for more than a week. This unfortunate situation has forced residents to climb as many as 315 stairs whenever they need to enter or leave their building. This has become a pressing issue as some residents have reported feeling lightheaded and even fainting due to the strenuous climbs. One tenant expressed the distress of the residents, saying that her husband, who suffers from high blood pressure, lost consciousness due to the ordeal.

Despite multiple appeals, the residents have not received a response or assistance from the building management, and even online grocery deliveries have ceased service to the building. Obtaining essential supplies and even drinking water has become a challenging task for the affected residents. They have called for urgent attention and resolution to this problem, which has disrupted their daily lives and poses health risks, especially for those with medical conditions.
