A group of compassionate students from GEMS Wellington International School in Dubai is making waves with their non-profit organization, DigifyDubai. Founded by Ujjwal Aggarwal, Ishan Puri, and Brian Maina, DigifyDubai began as an entry in an international competition, aiming to address the digital divide among migrant workers in Dubai. Despite not securing funding initially, the determined trio decided to forge ahead with their mission to bridge the technological gap.

DigifyDubai hosts weekly workshops in Bur Dubai, offering free tech education to migrant workers. These sessions, led by Ujjwal and Ishaan, cover a range of topics, from crafting professional resumes to mastering the basics of Windows. By tailoring the content to each worker’s practical needs and incorporating tools like Duolingo and ChatGPT, the organization empowers these workers to boost their job prospects and improve their quality of life. With plans to expand their reach through school partnerships, DigifyDubai is on a mission to transform the lives of Dubai’s workforce, one tech lesson at a time.
