Abu Dhabi’s New Airport Terminal Set to Take Off in November

In a major announcement, Abu Dhabi Airports revealed the upcoming launch of its cutting-edge new terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH). The much-anticipated Terminal A, formerly known as the Midfield Terminal Building, is all set to kick off operations in early November 2023.

Spanning an impressive 742,000 square meters, Terminal A ranks among the largest airport terminals globally and is poised to revolutionize AUH’s passenger and cargo capacity. Once operational, it will cater to a whopping 45 million passengers annually, boasting the ability to process 11,000 travelers every hour while accommodating a fleet of 79 aircraft simultaneously.

Terminal A offers a range of interconnected biometric systems designed to provide passengers with a seamless, digital journey – from pre-travel preparations to boarding. The terminal features convenient self-service kiosks, efficient security checkpoints, and state-of-the-art baggage handling systems.
