Dubai is set to host one of Pablo Picasso’s most celebrated works, ‘Femme à la Montre’ or ‘Woman with Watch.’ This masterpiece, valued at over Dh440 million ($120 million), will be the centrepiece of a two-day exhibit hosted by Sotheby’s at Dubai International Festival City from September 25 to 26, marking the first time it has left the United States since 1968.

This iconic artwork, painted in 1932, features Marie-Thérèse Walter, often referred to as Picasso’s ‘golden muse,’ due to their passionate yet secretive love affair. It was during this remarkable year that Picasso’s artistic genius reached new heights, resulting in several renowned works, many of which showcased Walter. The upcoming Dubai exhibition offers a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts to witness a piece of Picasso’s ‘miracle year,’ an era when he produced numerous masterpieces in a remarkably short span.

This extraordinary display promises to be a rare chance for art aficionados in Dubai to experience the brilliance of Picasso’s work and the enchanting portrayal of his ‘golden muse.’ The exhibit will be open to the public on September 25 from 2pm to 5pm and on September 26 from 10am to 7pm, offering a glimpse into the world of one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
