Johnson & Johnson Unveils Modern Logo in Brand Transformation

Johnson & Johnson, the renowned US healthcare company, is bidding farewell to its iconic cursive signature logo that has adorned its products for 136 years. The signature script, originally based on co-founder James Johnson’s own signature, will be replaced with a contemporary design. The shift in branding reflects the company’s commitment to being a “pure play healthcare company,” as explained by Vanessa Broadhurst, Executive Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs. The new logo, colors, and font will gradually replace the old emblem across all company materials, product packaging, and branding assets.

While the classic script may no longer grace their products, Johnson & Johnson retains its signature red color, symbolizing its dedication to swiftly addressing health challenges and staying current. This change also involves uniting both the medical technology and pharmaceutical segments under the Johnson & Johnson brand name. As part of this transition, Janssen, the pharmaceutical segment, will eventually adopt the name “Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine,” and the medical technology segment will remain “Johnson & Johnson MedTech.” This transformation comes after the company’s division selling consumer products like Band-Aids and Listerine was spun off into a separate entity, Kenvue. The Johnson & Johnson logo will gradually disappear from these consumer products.
