A student in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, lost his life when he was struck by a car driven by a fellow schoolmate. The victim, a student at an intermediate school in Al Rashidiya 2 district, was hit by the car of another student from the same school complex. The accident occurred on a street near the educational complex as the high school student’s car veered and collided with the victim, who was walking home after the school day had ended.

Following the mishap, the injured student was promptly taken to a local hospital but, tragically, succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have initiated an investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the accident. This heartbreaking incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety and vigilance, especially during school commutes, as students across Saudi Arabia started the new school year after a two-month summer break on August 20.
