In the UAE, where strong sunlight and extreme heat are common, window tints on vehicles are a popular choice. Many cars come from the factory with some level of tinting, but there are specific rules governing the degree of tint allowed on windows. Violating these regulations can result in a hefty fine of Dh1,500. Umm Al Quwain police have recently cautioned motorists against exceeding the permissible limits of window tinting, emphasizing that going beyond 50 percent visibility is prohibited, covering not only the windshield but also side and rear windows.

The law in the UAE stipulates certain percentages of tinting that are allowed for vehicles, primarily to ensure road safety and visibility. Motorists are reminded that altering the tint on their windows to levels higher than legally permitted can lead to penalties. Additionally, the authorities emphasize the importance of fully removing sunscreens placed on windshields before driving, as failure to do so is considered a violation and may result in fines. This serves as a reminder for drivers to adhere to the regulations surrounding car window tinting to avoid penalties and ensure safe driving conditions on the roads.
