Expo City Dubai has introduced the inaugural Artificial Intelligence Film Festival ( AIFF ), making the region’s premier event that explores the intersection of cinema and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The festival, spanning six months , will encompass a global competition inviting both professional and amateur filmmakers worldwide to submit short films featuring AI generated content. The AIFF aims to celebrate the synergy between human creativity and technology, reinforcing Expo City Dubai as a hub for AI innovation and fostering connections between talent and technology.
The AIFF competition runs until December 1, 2023, with a distinguished jury shortlisting films from December 1, 2023, to January 8, 2024. Subsequently, online voting for the Audience Choice Award takes place from January 15 to February 9, 2024. The festival will culminate with an awards ceremony on February 29, 2024, featuring four prestigious categories: Best Film Award, Best Director Award, Audience Choice Award, and AI Choice Award. With Expo City Dubai serving as the host, the AIFF will also provide a dedicated website for virtual visitors to engage with the festival’s offerings remotely, emphasizing the convergence of cinema and AI and Expo City Dubai’s role as a global platform for innovation and collaboration.
